Come along and celebrate Christmas with Caldy Valley Voices.
Music, poetry from the Chester Poets, and a mince pie to get you in the festive spirit! There will also be a raffle in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. We will be performing a new carol “Sleep, my Jesu” at this concert which was recently composed by Jamie Hall as part of his project “Dancing Day” especially to support Macmillan Cancer as part of #ChoirsAgainstCancer. Many other choirs are singing this carol to raise money for this very worthy cause.

Tickets £5 from choir members, or phone 01829 771624, or buy them below:

Excerpts from last year’s carol concert –

Over the Moon

We were delighted to be able to perform our “Over the Moon” summer concert programme on Saturday night. The audience enjoyed a blend of musical genre from a capella spirituals to pop and jazz. We were supported by a super performance from Huntington Primary School Choir. The singing was interspersed with moon-themed poetry, some of which had been specially commissioned for the event!

Your concert was really good, and we were so glad we could be there.
Super arrangements and harmonies, lots of feeling and confidence in the singing, and a sense of intimacy and togetherness throughout it all.
Loved the African songs especially.   Walking and singing was so evocative……..

Our first Christmas Concert took place at Caldy Valley Church, Chester on Friday 11th December at 7.30pm. We presented a seasonal programme of music and poetry interspersed with some musical solos. There were over 80 people in the appreciative audience who all enjoyed a drink and a mince pie afterwards.

‘Stage and Screen’ – Summer Concert

Stage and Screen ConcertOn Friday evening 10th July 2015, we enjoyed our summer concert which was an evening of poetry and song. We welcomed renowned poet, Aled Lewis Evans who shared some of his work.

We also welcomed local soloists, Harriet Jones and Becky Hay who performed solos alongside the choral items.

After the concert the audience were treated to wine and a buffet supper…

A Year of Song

The singers’ first concert took place on 26th July 2014 at Caldy Valley Church. It was a night of celebration, music, song, and laughter including wine and a super buffet laid on by the choir. Kemal Houghton was the master of ceremonies for the event and he and Tom Robinson provided entertainment during and after the buffet.
